Line managers help you to develop in your job
All Robinwood staff have a line manager assigned to support them throughout their employment and to help them develop within their role at Robinwood.
Line managers want you to enjoy your work
Line managers are keen to see that members of their line team enjoy their work and to feel engaged in it. They aim for every member of their team to feel listened to and supported throughout their work, with plenty of opportunity to develop and grow in their time at Robinwood.
Job chats
Line managers have frequent job chats with members of their team and if you have any queries, problems or ideas your line manager is always a good person to speak to.
As well as job chats your line manager will observe activity sessions and give feedback to help you develop and improve, both in delivering activity sessions and the role of group leader as a whole.
Line team meetings
Line teams also get together, generally twice each season for line team meetings, at which different aspects of working at Robinwood can be discussed, with proposals put forward and feedback gathered from the staff team.
The training team
At each centre we have a training team made up of a manager and staff in range of different positions, including group leaders. This provides the opportunity for staff at all levels who are interested to get involved, to help decide on aspects of the training provided, including the allocation of money from the training budget.
Wide ranging training options
We get independent experts and staff from within Robinwood to deliver centre based training on a range of topics including;
Behaviour management
Working SEN children
Sign language
Reviewing skills
Voice projection
Mental health awareness
Consultation takes place, through the training team, with the staff at each centre on the training we provide.
Canoeing and Climbing Development Days
Our senior instructors and training instructors run training days at a variety of venues to develop canoeing and climbing skills. All staff have the opportunity to develop. from whatever their current level is and over time to gain national governing body qualifications which can be great for career progression, all paid for and supported by Robinwood.
Some development days take place during work time, but we also offer additional opportunities outside of work time, enabling staff to progress at their own pace to achieve coaching qualifications.
Nationally recognised awards available to all staff, paid for by Robinwood include;
