At Robinwood we are very proud of our staff, we listen to them and value their ideas, and they have made a huge difference to both the children we work with and the growth of the company.

As a result of this focus on staff development, we have been awarded a place in the Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Companies to Work for’ for the last six consecutive years!

Why do our staff love their job? Check out the top 10 reasons to work for Robinwood below…

Here are some tips to make your application stand out from the crowd!

Be yourself – let your personality show, if your application makes us smile (or even laugh!) you are more likely to be invited to a selection.

Complete all sections of the application form. (It’ll take only 10 minutes)

Make us notice you – give us information about your experience working or volunteering with children as this is most relevant to the job.

Be clear and concise, but make sure the detail is there.

We will normally confirm receipt of an application form within a week and give further details of how your application will be proceeding.

Safer Recruitment

Robinwood adheres to Safer Recruitment guidelines to ensure the safety of visiting children. All job offers made will be subject to receipt of two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Application Process

Quick Application Form

This should only take around 10 minutes to complete. It’s your first opportunity to let us know what you could offer as a Group Leader at Robinwood.

An Interview

Having received your application form we’ll be in touch to arrange a video interview with you, which will also provide the opportunity for you to ask any questions about Robinwood.

If you’re successful in your interview, we’ll invite you to a virtual selection.

Virtual Selection

For our virtual selection, we will get groups, generally of 5 or 6 candidates, together.

This part of the selection takes place over zoom and generally lasts about 4 hours in total.

We have selection tasks lined up that will allow us to assess your qualities and your suitability for the role of Group Leader.

Virtually everyone who has taken part in one tells us that, as well presenting some challenges, a Robinwood zoom selection is also a lot of fun to participate in.

Zoom selection will include an ice breaker, a range of group tasks with some individual elements, some problem solving and a group discussion. Most people find this a very worthwhile and positive experience.

Centre Visit

After a successful selection outcome, you will be invited to visit the centre you are appointed to, where you will meet with the centre manager and observe some group sessions.

Welcome Bonus

Starting a new job can come with additional costs, especially in a rural area.

So to help with this we are offering new starters at Barhaugh Hall a £500 welcome bonus, which will be paid in your first paycheque.
