What centre do you work at and what’s great about where you  live?

Todmorden Centres, the hills are pretty with really nice routes to run on, it’s easy to get away from civilisation.

Why did you choose Robinwood?

I wanted to go back to working with children and I had a friend working here.

How did you find the selection process?

Fun and stressful!

What’s your favourite thing about working for Robinwood?

Making children laugh.

What was the highlight of your training?

We went on a journey for canoe training

What’s the Coolest part of your job?

Working with really nice people.

What is it like working with 7-11 year olds?

It’s great to see the kids developing over the three days and it’s good to have some banter with the teachers!

Describe your first group in 5 words.

Hectic, supported, fun, relief, manic

What’s the nicest thing someone has done for you since you started?

A friend bringing me cake in!

What’s been your funniest moment?

Children getting confused between identifying cows, sheep and chickens!

What is your favourite session to run and why?

Boulders and Alien Conspiracy at Old School – getting off centre and adventuring with the children.

Have you been on any social events and what were they like?

Alton Towers and Blackpool Water Park were my favourites, I love the rides.

Have you tried anything new since starting at Robinwood?

Climbing, fell running and exploring the Calder Valley in general.

What extra training have you done since joining Robinwood and is there more you plan to do?

Climbing Wall Award, Mountain Leader, Hill and Moorland Leader, Disability Awareness and many others.  I’m planning on doing my assessments for those.

What advice would you give to someone considering applying?

Be yourself, find your own instructor style.
